International Women’s Day

A day to celebrate the woman you are today and the woman you are becoming.

Happy Women’s Day to all my ladies out there. We aren’t dealt the easiest hand. We are born into a world we are automatically viewed as less than our male counterparts.

We are judged on the shape of our bodies and sex appeal. We are pitted against each other; we are envious of each other for our appearances, the relationships that might look perfect; the happy face we put on most days; and the money we work so hard to earn.

There are so many things that feel heavy and hard about being a woman. Bleeding every month, worrying and being aware of our safety, protecting our rights to choose and of our very own bodies, closing the orgasm gap and our rights for pleasure not just the pleasure of others, the list could go on and on.

But I feel blessed, honored, and proud to be a woman today.

We are wild, we are free, we are amazing, talented, fierce, strong, caring, soft, emotional, loving humans. We are on a healing journey home to ourselves, to the version of us that we long to accept and be; not the version society has dressed us in for hundreds of years.

Wherever you are on your journey I see you, I honor you and hold space for you.

We are daughters; we are friends, we are wives, we are mothers, we are leaders, we are survivors. We are women.

Thank you to every woman who has shown and lead the way for the women that came after them.

And to the many male allies out there; thank you, thank you, thank you! We appreciate you helping our voices be heard and our power be seen. We could do it without you, but I’m so glad we don’t have to!
